Feeding Children – Success is in the Details Self-Study

This self-study will teach you how to help your clients apply the Satter Division of Responsibility (sDOR) in all situations. An expert ESI Faculty member will walk you through how to set parents/caregivers on a path to success and avoid common pitfalls. You will work on case studies and interact with your instructor and fellow participants to “dig deeper” into sDOR. This self-study is approved for 16 CEUs from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

About this training program

Feeding Children – Success is in the Details will explore the intricacies involved in the application of the Satter Division of Responsibility in Feeding (sDOR). Expert Ellyn Satter Institute (ESI) faculty members will walk you through how to set parents and caregivers on a path to success and avoid common pitfalls. You will work through ten modules including three case studies while interacting with your instructors and fellow participants via virtual chat. You will also have the opportunity to attend a live one-hour Q&A with an ESI faculty member on these dates: September 11, 2024, November 13, 2024, February 12, 2025 and April 9, 2025 - all sessions will be 1:00-2:00 pm CT. The Zoom link will be in the curriculum.

What you will learn from this training

  • The value of assessing parents’ adherence to the Satter Division of Responsibility in Feeding using the sDOR 2-6 year tool
  • Five principles to help parents take leadership with feeding, including strategies for offering unfamiliar, less nutritious and challenging foods
  • How to address feeding challenges such as picky eating and weight divergence, and how to manage forbidden foods

Please note that ESI does not submit this information for you. You are responsible for ensuring that your CPEUs are correctly registered.
