The Last Chapter: Eating Disorder Care, Transitioning Back to sDOR

$30.00

A webinar for Professionals by Jennifer Harris, RDN, LD, CEDS-S
Many folks consider eating disorder treatment to end once predicted weight goals are achieved and medical sequelae are resolved.  Not so.  After months of high-level support for feeding and eating the transition back to leadership and autonomy can be quite challenging. Eating disorder practitioners understand that a return to typical eating patterns is not automatic for many of their clients and families.  By the time a family reaches the Last Chapter, treatment fatigue may have set in, and vague theoretical goals can be frustrating.   Add to that the concern of relapse, which is high given the stressful and traumatic experience of nearly losing a child.  The maintenance phase of eating disorder treatment can be relatively smooth or quite rocky, in either case it can’t be ignored, and the family will continue to need your support.  Outpatient dietitians will appreciate this offering which includes transition strategies and case review as one family works through their Last Chapter.
