At My Own Pace: Feeding and Food Acceptance Solutions in Children with Autism

$30.00

On-demand webinar for professionals by Sarah McKenna, RD

Children on the autism spectrum often experience heightened food sensitivities and challenges with exploring and eating new foods. This aversion to textures and new or less-preferred foods can be stressful for both parent and child. These extremely cautious eaters can benefit from a clear delineation in parent feeding jobs and child eating jobs. For many children, following the Division of Responsibility in Feeding helps children become more trusting, adventurous eaters who ultimately eat a wider variety of foods and develop longer-term eating competence. This webinar will delve into some of the challenges that families with neurodivergent children face and how providers can help them to establish feeding strategies that support their enjoyment at meals and snacks, introduction of new foods and reduce feeding stress for the whole family.
