About Ellyn Satter Institute (ESI)

At the Ellyn Satter Institute, we are dedicated to transforming lives by helping individuals and families develop a positive and joyful relationship with food. Rooted in the pioneering work of dietitian, family therapist and eating and feeding expert, Ellyn Satter, our approach fosters physical, emotional, and social well-being through Satter’s proven methods.

What We Do

  • Education & Training: We offer courses, webinars, and customized programs for professionals to deepen their understanding of Satter’s Eating Competence and Feeding Dynamics models.
  • Resources & Tools: Our extensive collection of books, articles, and handouts help professionals and the public apply Ellyn Satter’s models in their work and personal lives. We also provide validated inventories to assess adherence to the models for use in clinical practice, research and education.
  • Consultation & Support: We provide expert guidance for professionals and organizations seeking to apply Satter’s models to their work.
  • Coaching: We provide expert coaching for people looking for more support and guidance with their eating and/or child feeding.
  • Mentoring: Our expert faculty provides one-on-one or group mentorship for professionals looking to expand their understanding of implementation of the models in their particular practice setting. 
  • Speaking: ESI works with organizations to plan and deliver in-person and virtual presentations that meet a variety of learning needs, including workshops, key-notes and full conferences.

The Ellyn Satter Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting professionals and the public with eating and feeding. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, donations to Ellyn Satter Institute are tax-exempt, and the ESI complies with all 501(c)(3) rules and regulations.
