STEP 3: Demonstrate Mastery Understanding of the Satter Models

You’re almost there! As a final step in the process of being certified as an Eating
Competence Professional, you’ll need to demonstrate in-depth understanding of the Satter
models by presenting a case related to your professional setting (i.e. clinical, public health, academia) that will be evaluated by an ESI faculty assessor.

Option 1: Recorded Case Presentation $195

Follow the instructions below for preparing and submitting your case presentation. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

STEP 1

Determine whether you will present a case using the Satter Feeding Dynamics model or the Satter Eating Competence model. Then, use the appropriate framework (i.e. child feeding or adult eating) that was used in the applicable master course.

STEP 2

Prepare your case using the ESI PowerPoint slide template and associated rubric. Add slides as needed, however, keep your presentation to a maximum of 20 minutes. Record yourself presenting the case and save it as an mp4 file. There are many free platforms that offer this feature including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Express, Vimeo, Canva, etc.

STEP 3

Purchase the recorded case presentation package and follow the instructions for uploading your recording, slide deck and speaking notes. You will receive a notification that your files were successfully submitted within two business days.

STEP 4

Please allow up to three weeks for ESI to review and grade your submission (based on the rubric provided). If you achieve a score of 18.5 or greater, you will have met the final requirement for certification as an Eating Competence Professional. If your score was below 18.5, you will need to resubmit the same, or new case. You will receive a notification regarding next steps.
