ESI Self-Study Programs

Complete and pass one of the self-study programs offered by ESI. Options include “Ellyn Satter’s Child of Mine,” “Your Child’s Weight,” or the “Satter Eating Competence Model” exam.

Master Level Courses

Complete two master level courses: “Feeding with Love and Good Sense” and “Treating the Dieting Casualty. These hybrid courses include online training and live weekly discussion/ Q&A sessions with ESI faculty facilitators.

Case Presentation

Demonstrate consolidation of your learning by presenting a case applying the Satter models to your specific setting that will be evaluated by an ESI faculty evaluator.

Accelerated Application

ESI recognizes professionals who may have previously completed training with the organization or components of the current Certified Eating Competence Professional requirements. Recertification

The renewal period for Certified Eating Competence Professionals is every three years to ensure that professionals maintain competency and currency in the models. The recertification process includes completion of 20 ESI specific continuing education credits, and submission of a recertification application.
